FOUR YOUR CONSIDERATION - TREASURE HUNT
Sean says:
Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list. The only rule is to not use the ones from the previous round - you must change them every round. Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later. You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants. The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 a.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next. |

An hour early, but the board is dead.
Five newbies
All those new reviews are just dying for votes so let's post people!
Explanations:
Yentl You may need to say the review aloud. To assuage any guilt from fellow liberals, remember that Judiasm is intrinsic to the plot of the movie. Nonetheless, if anyone feels offended by this review, let me know.
Poseidon Confession time. This is actually the title of the Mad magazine parody of the original film from over 30 years ago. I still remember it, so I guess it must be good.
Thomas Crowm Affair Faye Dunaway appeared in the original and the remake.
Millions Best pure film-making I've seen since Amelie, disguised as a "family" film. If you haven't seen it, rent it! Same director as Trainspotting, with actual trains in this case. One of which dumps a huge wad of cash near a young boy. |

Four newbies I thought were relatively clever, and one perplexing oldie.
Some comments:
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Not sure why, I just really like the sound of this one.
Cast Away: Everybody wants to rule the world.
Speed: Gets better if you know Runaway Train inspired Speed screenwriter Graham Yost.
Das Boot: Quite possibly my favorite out of the fwfr's I've written so far. What exactly am I saying with this one?
Mission Impossible: III: I have no idea how this review got four votes without my pimping it.

Mostly oldies.
It just seemed time to give these a little exposure.
Anyone who's seen The Ages of Lulu will remember the music (I think).
Done & dusted as far as LadyMeerkat. |
