I must say The Trilogys this year are disappointing. I sure hope Pirates is better than Shrek and Spider-man combined.

I just got back from seeing Shrek with my daughter and wife. Sure my daughter loved it. It had Shrek and babies. Sure My wife loved it. She couldnt stop laughing at it. ME?? First thing I said when I cam eout of the theater "Coulda waited for the DVD."

The first and second were better than the third. Not much singing. and when there was, it was either cut off or part of the musical play. I waited throughout the movie for Justin to sing. Not once!!! Not one little Ditty of "Sexy Back". Very disappointing.

Followed the Trilogy rules a bit. Was darker than the first two. The secret revealed was that there was a King in waiting behind Shrek. His name is Arthur. WHo has help from Merlin. But with those 2 youd expect there to be a 'Sword in the Stone' joke. Nope.....Nowhere!!!! Most of the jokes were about the villians.

Over all, I didnt enjoy the movie that much. Sure I laughed at the jokes. But this movie could have done way better. I doubt there will be a 4th. If there is...then Ill wait for DVD.

Anyone else seen the movie yet?? Anyone has thoughts? Anyone planning to see it?

I've heard pretty bad things about Shrek The Third, but hoped it wasn't the case. I'll probably see it on the off-chance everyone is completely wrong- yeah right...

BTW, I once remember reading rumours of Shrek films numbering up to a sixth(!!!) in the series being planned, don't know if this is still the case however. Given the panning this one's had for not enough jokes, you have to wonder if there's enough Grimm-like material left for any more without having to venture into Matrix parodies and the like to pad it out.

For my money, there's only going to be one part 3 worth watching this Summer- The Bourne Ultimatum

It's like watching a long episode of Shrek: The Animated Series. Certainly not up to the gag-a-minute standards of the second one.

Spider-Man 3 still kicks ass, for the record.

Makes me happy that they never did a Toy Story 3, since I really liked both the first two.

Pirates comes here next week and we might try to see the preview screening (if we can).

Ahem... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435761/

Rumour was, in the midst of the Disney/ Pixar negotiations, Disney was going to make the third one without Pixar's involvement, farming the work out to some cheapo animation studio. At least Pixar is working on the third one again now.

I saw it today (with two loud wiggly kids...never again!) and I didn't like it at all.
