Posted - 01/13/2012 : 18:02:42 I reached a mini milestone on Jan 4, 3,500 reviews. So I will now set myself with two targets for the end of the year. Firstly, I want to exceed my review count for last year. Secondly, I aim to become a bronze halo wearer.
There I have said it, now how about yours? |

Posted - 01/31/2012 : 20:19:32 My only real aim over the last couple of years has been to review all of the films that I have seen at the cinema. As I've already covered up to 2011 and as films are quite expensive here, this seems pretty achievable to keep up with. I've never cared about the total-reviews ranking, and as votes are so scarce on the ground these days I don't really care about the votes rankings any more either.

Posted - 01/26/2012 : 09:16:09 I had fallen off my reviewing bandwagon after my stroke, but getting a new movie channel and beginning to see a veritable cornucopia of new movies has put me back in the groove. I've had over 225 new reviews since the first of December 2011 and I count that as prolific. I even managed to climb the ranks by one to #28. At present, my goal is to catch up to and pass Alan Smithee, who always seems to inch past me. Overall, I have my eye on the 25th spot on the rank list. I *think* I can do it!! I HOPE!! |

Posted - 01/15/2012 : 23:15:04 Good man.
For me - well, number of reviews approved isn't ever a real target for me - I'm happy wherever I lie in that ranking table. Votes, and vote averages are more interesting to me. My main objective overall is to have good enough reviews so that they can garner three votes or more - harder when there are fewer voters around and I have splurges of a couple of dozen new reviews at a time, usually prompted by a fresh round of BaftaBabe's TA:MOU. Beyond that my next major milestone is achieving 30'000 votes (still a good 2'500 off that target, so it may not be this year), and trying to push up my vote average - 12.0 would be wonderful, but the more I review the further away it gets. |

Posted - 01/15/2012 : 20:23:05 I just want to stay alive and reviewing over the next year. I recently passed 15,000 total reviews, which only proves that if you slog it out over a very long period, you might gradually suss out the difference between a notion that's potentially acceptable and one that's a decline [yes, Virginia, I still get 'em!]. Then you too can eke out a big number.
The crush of other responsibilities has slowed me down over the past two or three months, though. My target is to get back on a dependable weekly schedule of review writing. My ultimate goal is to achieve every accolade there is, but of course that's impossible...you guys add them faster than AC, lemmy and I can catch 'em! [Not a complaint; it kinda makes things fun!]
It's a busy few weeks for the rest of January too, ending with our annual trip to the Sundance Film Festival, this year 1/26 thru 1/29. I always want to write capsule reviews of the movies as quickly as I can after seeing them [I'll post in the Films category in case anyone cares], so I should be back at full strength as Feb arrives.
My other target is health and happiness for all of you. |

Posted - 01/15/2012 : 18:30:10 The main resolution is to submit more than the miserly 78 approved in 2011. The good news last year was that I got my wings.
So, the target for the year is 100 reviews minimum (2 per week shouldn't be too difficult ). Other than that, I'd like to see a few more movies than last year. |

Posted - 01/13/2012 : 20:48:16 I made a New Year's resolution to get back into reviewing! 2011 was a very busy year for me so I got out of the swing of it.
My target is just to submit a few each week, so hopefully I can enter each FYCTH round with some new reviews.
I'd also like to break into the top 5 for average votes (I'm currently 7th), but that might be difficult since I'd need to maintain an average of 12 votes on my new reviews, and the amount of people entering the FYCTHs seems to have decreased over the last few months...*
*I know that included me for a while but I'm making an effort!
Congrats to Larry and Beanmimo for your impressive achievements.

Posted - 01/13/2012 : 18:40:47 I recently hit a mini-milestone by moving up the list of all-time active reviewers to become number 15.
My target for the end of 2012 is to be the 10th most active reviewer.
That means I need to have about 1300 reviews approved this year, depending upon what the other reviewers in the neighborhood do.
At the moment, I'm not reviewing much (theatre is stealing my time away from movies), but I hope to step it up again soon. |
