New things

NB
"A Field In England" is Ben Wheatley's latest film.
Simon Pegg plays Gary King, obsessed with a pub crawl, in "The World's End".
In "Frances Ha" the title character moves from apartment to apartment as she struggles to pay her rent and also takes an ill advised trip to Paris.
In "Only God Forgives" a police officer doles out revenge using a samurai sword, followed by bouts of karaoke.

Stuck in Love's supposedly earlier title was Writers. (However, the latter was what was shown on screen when I saw it recently; it also has two equally bland names in Spanish.)

Spoiler for Now You See Me (too tortured in the review to be a problem there): The magicians (Isla Fisher et al) steal money as part of their tricks..

Wadjda is a film that everyone should see: it is the the first full-length feature by a female Saudi director and the first shot entirely there, a very impressive achievement given that there is thus hardly any funding and she could not be seen talking to male members of the cast and crew. The title character reflects the director's determination: she dreams of owning a green bicycle, which her mother won't buy her since it is imagined to be inappropriate for girls, so she must use her own ingenuity to raise the money with various schemes.

Lemmy in for #949.

SPOILER alert for Gallipoli.

From the Life of Marionettesthe dysfunctional married couple Peter and Katarina Egermann first appeared in Bergmans Scenes from a Marriage.
