Okay, I've just had some declined reviews [yeah, boo-fucking-hoo], but that's not it. I just wanted to share some of them with you, 'cause I can see why they don't meet the rules, but I still think they're worth a blink for you my new best friends.

Plus, I'd also love to see some of your favs given the thumbs-down by Benj and the MERPS [hey, wasn't that a group in the 60s]

Pearl Harbor - Film longer that WWII
Dune - Long trek to sea
All that Jazz - Death! The Musical!
Independence Day - Emmerich documentary justifies SDI

Also, thanks to BaftaBabe, Sean, Bife and ChocolateLady for the tips above

Maybe on second thoughts it was a bit obscure.

And thanks to everyone that voted for the reviews I've made. Not sure if they are quite worthy of the votes yet but it's appreciated

You know, that's exactly what my husband said. Then he watched an episode and really liked it. There's something about it that's not your typical hospital drama with sex.

I agree. There's something a little bit different about it. We're only on episode 6 or 7 here but I'm enjoying it. Sandra Oh is great in it.

Yeah, another strikingly original concept, a drama set in a hospital, with lots of sex. How did they think that one up?

Hi Candice, and welcome to fwfr. As a rule, reviews shouldn't need explanations in order to 'get' them. I certainly wouldn't get that review without your explanation, but that's mainly as I've never heard of Grey's Anatomy or Ellen Pompeo or Moonlight Mile. But, you're on the right track, as has already been mentioned you should resubmit this review with a short explanation (you're limited to 100 characters) so that the Editors have enough information to make their decision. That review is a valid style and should pass the second time round, although it will only ever be understood by a relatively small number of people.

Keep 'em coming. You've made a good start for a blonde!

I think that could have been a borderline accept?

Hey Candice! Just raised your vote count for a Welcome Mat

Though I'm nowhere near as experienced on FWFR as these other guys, my own rule is not to reference TV characters names unless they've passed into legend -- like Mork. I think some of the MERPS [those cine-gods who help benj to judge our reviews] are from the UK, where Grey's Anatomy, for example, isn't available in all parts of the country, and anyway isn't nearly as big a hit as it is in the states. So even with an explanation, I'd say it was stretching the point. That said --- it's a terrific review as a concept

Keep 'em coming!

Hi Candice, welcome to our happy place.

I agree with those two wise users above, resub it.

I gave you exactly two votes to make up for the decline you had.

Hey Candice, big welcome

I agree with CL that the review is probably good, but if I were a MERP I wouldn't have understood it without an explanation, and that's probably the reason for the decline.

I would suggest you resubmit it with a 100 word explanation

Welcome Candice! I may be wrong, but that does sound like a good review to me. Of course, they may not have understood it. Did you explain this with your review? If you haven't deleted it, you might want to resubmit it and give that explination.

I guess it is an English thing. A don is also a professor at a university. So it would be similar to saying "History Teacher." It is not meant to be particularly funny, just tidy.

Agreed, guess once you have stared at something for a while you lose the perspective on it. I have submitted 5 word reviews before now as I have been searching so hard for the right phrase that the number of words gets forgotton!

You could change Godfather II to "Dawn of a Don" or "The Don of history".
