Just wondering who might like to try a slight variation of FYC as follows:
Since most of us usually manage to get through our viewing n voting before the time limit - Mon/Thur - we've actually got a bit of time to play with. So what if those who wanted to registered ourselves along with a page of our choice. Then we pair off so that our partner gets to pick the five FWFRs to select for that session's FYC.
So if, for example, Randall and I paired -- I'd get to choose five of his reviews to submit from his chosen page, and he'd get to choose five of mine. I'm guessing it wouldn't be possible to do this as a direct programming adjustment, but the chosen film titles could either be PMd to our partner, or just posted publicly in the thread and the person would then do the necessary as usual to their own id page.
This would have the added bonus that if Randall didn't get as many votes as he expected --- he could blame me!  And vice-versa. 
Have I explained that clearly enough? Does anyone think it's worth a go?!
Or should I get my coat

Nice idea Babe. Might be tricky to get enough people to join in if it is run in parallel to FYC. I think running it as an occasional substitute for FYC would jazz things up a bit. Thursday's FYC would be best because people will probably have a bit more time to get it sorted with a weekend in there.

I think I didn't make it clear that this would have been for one time only! I'd NEVER want to replace FYC

Intriguing idea, Baffy, but [as the fwiffer selected in Baffy's example] I think I'd rather keep it all as Xparent as possible. Others may disagree, and to that I say, "Salud!" |
