Posted - 10/04/2006 : 16:31:45 I submitted this review for Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor: 'Pu, Manchu'. It refers to the Chinese name of the emperor, Pu Yi, and to the fact that he was the "last Manchu."
Lo and behold, when it is approved, it has been changed to 'Poo, Manchu'! I am at a loss for why it has been altered in this way. Its now obviously scatological connotations aside, I don't believe that "Poo" is the proper spelling of the last emperor's name.
Can anyone offer an explanation for this?

Sorry to hear about the MERP's unfortunate end, but apologies are of course accepted.

Incidentally, the MERP responsible apologises profusely.
But we shot him anyway. |

Strange. Remember, however, as my review for that film says "shit happens". |
