DA ROOLZ
1. Look at the top-rank of your SECOND PAGE. Pick ONE film you think deserves to be on your first page - as sorted by votes received.

2. Isolate that film* and present the link in this thread WITH ...

3. AN EXPLANATION OF WHY YOU LIKE IT.

Who knows, your wish may come true

* It's been covered before how to do this, but here's a step-by-step recap:
1. Go to the page featuring everyone's reviews of your chosen film.
EITHER
2. From the drop-down display options choose My Reviews Only.

OR
2. Select Reviewer Name for the page display.
3. Find your own review and count which number it is on the page.
4. Up at the top url display you'll see something like this:
http://www.fwfr.com/display.asp?sort=2&dir=2&id=1698&Mode=&Rows=1&Start=11
5. See where it says Start=11 ... change that numeral to whatever you counted in step 3, and press go.
6. Your new page should now start with your chosen review.
7. NOW, to eliminate all the other reviews still showing, go up to the url display again and see where it says Rows=100.
8. Change that to Rows=1

3. Your new page should now have only your chosen review displayed. Copy that url and use it as your link for this thread.

HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!

I like this one because it's a great play on words.

Sadly, I've viewed but I can't vote because I've already voted on everyone's review. I guess that's the problem when you're on the site every day for the past two years.

I like this one because Andy said that in the future everyone would be famous for 15 minutes so I am playing with that in my review of this 90 minute movie (well 87 actually according to IMDb--I rounded up).

Here's mine.

A review I like because of two interpretations that both lend themselves to the pun. Firstly Johnny Rotten is a famous Sex Pistol, secondly "johnny rotten" sounds a like like "jolly rotten" in this instance. So everyone's happy, even people who hate punk rock.

Did catch a couple new ones

I'll be another taker.

I'm not sure how well this review for All the President's Men works.

I like it for its layered meaning. It's designed to allude to the phrase 'dusting for fingerprints'. This meticulous investigative process is paralleled in the film by Bernstein and Woodward's delicate process of piecing together the hints about the Watergate scandal.

Forgot to say...saw all to here Yukon.

So do I ... but I recognize it's kind of a 'specialist' thread
I guess the best result from it will be that everyone's first pages sparkle as they've never sparkled before, and no unsightly soap stains plus they'll be kind to your dishwasher, too. oops - wrong advert.

BTW - I AM enjoying reading people's self-assessments.

After careful consideration ...

I'm not sure I could explain why I like this one so much - or why 13 other people did too! It's basically a SWYS review, but I think it gets by on its somewhat snarky tone.

Voted to here.... and I DID get the Scarlet reference, Chocky!!

In a way, what is on my 2nd page top line could be on the first page bottom line were they voted on sooner. But in any case, The Full Monty may be my favorite British film. I love the story, the strip at the end and the song they use.

"You can leave your hat on," indeed. But we know you can't do the full monty and leave it on!!

Both of yours had 14 when I viewed them (had already voted for B.B.'s) but your top ranks on your second pages are both 15. Assuming you haven't both just received several votes on your 14s, is it supposed to be the top rank that doesn't also appear on your first page, rather than the actual top rank? If so, I hadn't realised that before.

It's any one that by acquiring at least one vote will jump it to the first page. In my case, it would be an alphabet thing ... since Evita at 15 would come before Syriana which at 15 is currently last on my front page. Because personally, I think my Evita review is slightly better than my Syriana review ... given they'd both have the same number of votes.

Does that make sense?

My problem was that I couldn't really justify why I think the ones with 15 votes on my 2nd page deserve any more votes. Now my GWTW review has 15 and if someone else gives it another, it will move into my first page (I think).

Thanks, JTC!!

Sal's right - the link's easy-peasy ... just pick a review from the top level of your 2nd page and we'll help you get it up for some votes that may nudge it onto your 1st page. Don't forget to say why you like it!

You know you wanna!

Tell us a review and we'll do the link for you.

Pseudo-French pronunciation of ginge.

is that WHY you like this review?

Sorry - forgot that part - rectified now.

Ah -- thanks, on both counts!
