Four Your Consideration - Treasure Hunt

Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list.
Do not use reviews from the previous round - you must change them every round.
Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later.
Provide a spoiler warning in your post when appropriate.
You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants.
The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 a.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next.

Meanwhile, back on topic...

Four oldies. One newbie.

Little if any explanation required. Perhaps I should note that when "Fever Pitch" was Americanized, the writers intentionally picked the Boston Red Sox because they hadn't won a World Series in over 80 years and weren't expected to break that streak.

Have pm'd you about this - but you prob'ly want to move this post to the current FYC thread

Kinda a spoiler there for The Prestige...

True spoiler below:
Well replicated means copied and I doubt anyone who hasn't seen the film would take it to mean anything deeper. I don't consider this to be a spoiler since even as one watches the film, it doesn't give anything away since one magician does copy another's trick.

Yep, so long as the viewer conveniently happens to go along with that and does not consequently think at all about what the spoiler might mean, then it's not a spoiler.

I concede that a very perceptive viewer might be able to be figure it out based on that review but such a viewer would likely figure it out anyway. It's not a spoiler like "Col. Mustard, kitchen candlestick"

It's just that with films like that where one expects there to be twists, it doesn't take much to tip the balance into making them guessable.

Five virgins for you to manhandle . . .

Oh geez, I liked Brad in The Devil's Own. I even have my own little impression. Wanna hear it?? Okay:

"I told ya Tahm, 'sit not an American story, 'tis an Irish one."

Yeah, it drives my friends crazy too. Oh, btw, V&V.

Thanks. I left off an explanation originally (as I could not think of anything else that the review could mean), but given the prompt I thought I might as well drop one in.

The problem was reading it too quickly. I read 'Cube become squares' which I couldn't make sense of in 5 seconds, so moved on. Sometimes I take a leisurely stroll through FYCTH, including checking out the movies I don't know on IMdB. Other times I whizz through and surely miss out on some gems.
