It's become a Xmastime tradition. Benj: Can you determine what were the 20 top scoring reviews for 2007-released films?

As usual I would ask my fellow FWFR's to forward this list to local or national media outlets, asking them to credit and reference The Four Word Film Review as the source of those reviews.

Last year, many from the list were read on CBC Radio on the same program Benj was interviewed on earlier in the year.

Still, I have a head-start for 2008 and 2009.

This is not Whippersnaper's year. "Dallas" the movie is now listed by IMDB as 2009. "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything", which I reviewed, is now listed as 2008.

Re: a tie-break, I say post links to all the twentieth equal reviews (as of midnight tomorrow), and indeed all those above, and see if that settles it.

Yep, I just realised that when I came back into this thread myself. I still think it would've been better to wait till the end of the year, but it indeed was not essential.

It'll be the order the data was written to the database. Theoretically, this should be in order of date submitted, but various other factors could throw this out.

I didn't enforce any kind of ordering besides number of votes. Any suggestions as to how tiebreakers should be ordered?

That said - and I hate to point this out about my pal Whipper - The 1-Second Film is still "in production" status and slated for 2008 release. But it's still a GREAT review!

And it only took me a second to think of it!

I was hoping that this review of mine with 24 votes would have gotten in as well.

Shouldn't we have waited till the end of 2007 before this list was announced?

Good stuff all. But wouldn't the above have worked better as "Sinatra-1, Clooney-3?"

Thanks Benj. There are some real gems there. I went back and voted for some of the ones I missed. My own top review of 2007 ("Doctors do little" for Sicko) only lost out in the top 20 by one vote!
