My 3 reviews for 'Spinal Tap Reunion' have been rejected for the reason 'not a film'. Yet the film is listed on FWFR. Search it, and there it is.
Is it a film? (in which case my reviews should be considered) or isn't it a film? (in which case why is it listed in the first place?)
Cheers

Sorry I missed this. Yep, it looks like a film- can you resub your reviews and I'll have a look at them. |

Benj Clews ... is Spinal Tap Reunion a film? It's listed. It's had reviews accepted for it.
Can you address this? |

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 01:59:06 By the way, I'd suggest renaming this thread so that it's actually about the issue, not the name of the film. Benj and the relevant MERP may not have read it, assuming it's just a thread about the film in the wrong place. |

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 01:55:58 I'll take a wild stab that this is the new MERP again. She/he does not seem to be able to grasp any of the rules. |

Posted - 09/07/2008 : 01:50:37 Well get this, Salopian
Since I started this thread last night, I've resubmitted all 3 of my reviews.
All 3 have been rejected again for the same reason "This is not a film"
Yet ... not only is the film still listed on FWFR, but someone else has had a review accepted for it.
I feel like I've taken crazy pills!!!

Posted - 09/06/2008 : 18:27:49 The MERPs have an unfortunate tendency, when one proves the rejection reason wrong, to just reject for some other or no reason. However, they surely shouldn't have access to this reason at all. It should only be applied when Benj cancels a whole film. |

Posted - 09/06/2008 : 16:31:51 Actually, Larry ...
My first review for it was "This ISN'T Spinal Tap" ... meaning, I don't think the comedy in this film is up to the standard we've come to expect from these guys, and is a pale comparison of the original.
They rejected it as 'factually inaccurate - this IS Spinal Tap'
That made me chuckle aloud, I have to tell you.
I resubmitted, explaining I'd meant that this isn't the Spinal Tap I know and love. That's when I was rejected because it's not a film at all!

I'm glad you got your review accepted. I really hope it doesn't get taken away as a result of this thread.
What i'm really hoping is that they'll declare the film as a film and allow others to submit reviews.
I've no idea why they're saying it's not a film ...

Posted - 09/06/2008 : 15:40:03 It is, in fact, a film. A mockumentary made in the exact same style as the original -- concert scenes and interviews -- and originally produced for straight-to-video release. ABC did option the film for one showing, but the DVD has become a cult semi-classic.
EDIT - The previously-approved review you mentioned is mine. The MERPs didn't seem to have any trouble approving it -- it was added relatively quickly. |
