Sean Says: - Put any five reviews you like in your F.Y.C. list. - Do not use reviews from the previous round - you must change them every round. - Post here to declare that you've done it. Sooner is better than later. - Provide a spoiler warning in your post when appropriate. - You must read the F.Y.C.s of all participants. - The next round starts on Monday or Thursday at 6:00 a.m. FWFR time, whichever comes next. - The initiator of the next round will name the thread "FYCTH - #***" or "Sean's FYCTH - #***", "***" is one integer greater than the number of the current round. The initiator of the next round will copy this post verbatim and it will appear as the opening post of the next round, the only things that may be changed are fonts/colours and smileys (which may be removed altogether if desired) and the inviso comment after "Sean Says:". |

Well, I would say your THE POSTMAN review is effectively the same as Pope George Ringo's. Sorry!
V&Ved.
Hm... well, I guess I'll have to think of something else for that movie.
(Got everyone so far.)

Posted - 05/14/2009 : 01:24:19 I'm not sure that's true in Salopain's terms.
As long as people are prepared to keep arguing with him he can effectively put himself at the centre of the fourum. The fact that he upsets others, becomes unpopular or even upsets himself may be less important to him than being a somebody on the site and having a self-identity - Guardian Of Truth. We all know he can go on making his points indefinitely and inflexibly.
That's why I strongly suggest, although I fully accept its up to everyone to make their own choice, but I strongly suggest that just ignoring him when he makes this kind of post is the best discouragement, as he does not get the "reward" of getting others to dance to his tune. At the same time this respects his right to his own opinions and shouldn't upset anyone.
Either he'll learn that certain types of posts don't get him the attention he craves and he'll slowly desist or he'll carry on being annoying, but at least the rest of us won't have to read post after post concerning his obsessions.
Let's face it, all this continuing invective about whether people call it "For Your Consideration" or "Four Your Consideration" is hardly indicative of normal behaviour.

"For" or "Four" is not an issue, I could not care less what people want to call it. I've never tried to 'defend' it, just pointing out an historical fact. The only 'issue' is the fact that you're going on and on and on and on and on about it like someone with OCD.
What's relevant here is that people are going to call it "Four" or "For", whatever they feel like, and there's nothing whatsoever that you can do about it. Also, the longer you go on about it the more set in concrete "Four" will become. You lose. |

I've never said it does. My objecting to it doesn't affect the reviews either so by that argument no one can mind that.
The problem with it is that it is (i) patently not the actual spelling and (ii) so very, very lame.
Perhaps W. should start a special thread to create another silly rule, seeing as it was not at all absurd or disingenous to do so last time. |
