Posted - 10/08/2009 : 13:58:16 Film fans who also love Tolkien will probably be excited there's a Hobbit movie on the way. You'll also know it's actually TWO Hobbit movies. They're doing the story in two parts.
Tolkien fans will also know that Bilbo's own alternate title to the story of his adventures was 'There and back again'
So ... I submitted two reviews simultaneously.
The Hobbit part 1: 'There ...' The Hobbit part 2: '... and back again.'
'... and back again' was approved. Yay! It's even got a vote already.
BUT 'There ...' was rejected. No reason. Boooo!
I should point out that I was actually expecting both to be rejected. I felt they worked well as a cheeky pair, but didn't expect either to get past the MERPs.
Any comments, folks?

Perhaps they know you hate it when they change the slightest things about your reviews, because let's be honest it's not like you to submit with any mistakes. Or was it all a cunning test?
I have been extremely specific several times that it's fine for them to correct things that can only be typos.

Posted - 10/09/2009 : 08:38:25 Seeing as the MERPs occasionally like to arbitrarily change correct spellings, I think they could have corrected this typo! |

I agree with this. For the reasons given, it was a long shot, but it's only in this simple form that it's really good. |

Posted - 10/09/2009 : 05:06:35 Update - thanks for your advice, guys.
I resubmitted as "Bilbo journeys: There ..." and it's been accepted.
This is proof that the MERPs are only 99% pure evil. (ha ha ha only joking, my evil overlord masters) |

Posted - 10/08/2009 : 18:13:14 That would be in two hob-bits then, would it?
And don't even think about it - I've already submitted! |

Posted - 10/08/2009 : 17:51:45 Both good suggestions.
However, I feel it only works as 'There...' '...and back again'
No, wait. Demonic - I like What your saying... throw 'Bilbo' in there, and suddenly it has a chance. Maybe I'll have a think about that some more ....
... although ideally I'd like to have had both accepted as they are, or both rejected (as expected).

Posted - 10/08/2009 : 14:16:43 Tricky that. I'd have thought both would have gone through or neither - but I see where the problem lies, a review "There..." without the context of the completed phrase doesn't mean anything as it would appear on the page. I'd be tempted to add a few contexual words to the first review so it's still complete next to the second, like... "Bilbo goes there..." |
