I was lucky enough to see Coppola's version twice in the 80s, once in Toronto and once in LA.
lemmy, thank you for that. Lovely!
Most welcome, m'sieur. |

V&V.
Baffy, I cannot hear the name Abel Gance without remembering one of my all-time greatest cinema experiences: about 20 years ago, at Radio City, NAPOLEON on RCMH-sized screens with a full orchestra, Carmine Coppola on the baton. When the color triptych burst out, the jam-packed Music Hall crowd cheered and applauded, momentarily drowning out the orchestra! I get chills just describing it to you.
Oh, that brings back memories! We had a similar time when Carl Davies conducted ... I believe it was first at the NFT, and then somewhere in the West End. Isn't it amazing the impact it has/had. A true classic! I'm so glad you were part of such a privilege!
BTW - vv!

Posted - 04/25/2010 : 19:35:45 Very broad spoiler for Chloe in the first review. (It's the kind of thing that may even have been revealed in the trailer, but I've never seen that.)
At the inevitable conclusion of The Bounty Hunter, she gives him a bit of a fondle and feels boosted. |
