TA:MOU = Themed Anniversary: Moving On Up
DA EVEN NEWER ROOLZ
Each Tuesday a theme will be decided based on the Anniversary of some significant event. All you have to do is trawl your reviews for any that relate to that event and post them here with a link.
You can post as many as you wish, so long as either the film or your review clearly relates to the theme. You can only post during the week of the current TA:MOU.
You don't have to say you voted unless you really want to - but you are expected to visit all the links posted. As a courtesy to the majority of fwfrs, you may only post a link that uses the http://www.fwfr.com domain name.
Each TA:MOU # will be removed when a new one takes its place. This is to deter re-visiting of expired threads.

ON THIS DAY
in 1789, with the French Revolution raging, hundreds of Parisian women marched to the palace at Versailles, challenging Louis XVI to reverse his decision not to abolish feudalism. The king's profligacy had left their children starving so they demanded bread of the obscenely rich monarch, and wanted the court moved to Paris - which might have been to keep an eye on them or so next time they wouldn't have so far to march. ;)
It may be total coincidence, but exactly 155 years later to the day, with WWII raging, French women were granted the vote.
So, last week it was naughty brothers. Today let's celebrate feisty sisters. Post your reviews here for films that feature any group or handful of women who want to change or improve their lot.

I misread the intro when I started looking into appropriate titles for this round and ended up with a big list of films with sisters in them (as an obvious counterpoint to the brothers). I'm not sure I should enter them though as hardly any, if any, fit the actual theme and my appropriate reviews for the round are sparse. Better to be in it, inaccurately, or out? |
