Because of some personal messages I've received, I just want to reassure some of the newer members of fwfr that the person who occasionally calls himself cracovian or salopian - the one with the blank black box for an avatar -- has absolutely NO official status on this website.
The ONLY person with an official status is the founder of the site, benj clews. He is far too polite, not to mention busy, to publicly humilitate or call to task any of you.
Those pedantic critical remarks from anyone else are not official in any way and can only represent one person's point of view. I've long ago given up reading anything by him but in the light of the eMails I've received it's time to say something.
Please, dear fellow fwfrers, don't be intimidated or allow him to humiliate you so thoughtlessly. He has no sense of grace. You're all worth more than that. Most of us really love this site and don't like it at all when a cyber-bully blusters and blunders his way spreading crap as he goes. The best thing is probably just to ignore him.

THAT IS SO FUNNY! I totally forgot about that. I just went into the kitchen and asked DH (ha ha) if we'd ever had a can of peas thrown though our window and he told me the story. He said that the police were quite amused when I asked them to fingerprint the can.

Aw, come on guys! I know it sounds trite but can't we all just get along? There's no need to bother Benj with any of this- we are all intelligent, reasonable adults. This site is for fun and friendship and I'm sure if we all treat each other with grace and kindness, it can stay that way.

That's interesting. I wonder what you expect him to do about it, or if he'll be particularly sympathetic to your plight. It's always surprised me how calmly he deals with your criticism of his way of running his own website and your insistent demands over a seemingly endless stream of issues.
It seems obvious to say it but all those issues would probably be dealt with swiftly and smoothly if you weren't stomping your feet and alienating people and attacking the MERPs on a daily basis. |

Without naming any names, I have noticed in my three-year tenure here a certain amount of free-floating friction. A couple or three of my reviews were called to task publicly, though they'd already been MERP-approved, but I've gotten off relatively lightly; I've seen hissy fits, catfights, and outright flame wars that seemed to be more about one person's dislike of another than about four word film reviewing.
Personal messages, not the Fourum, are the best way to handle issues of disagreements.
