My point exactly! Well stated!

It's objectively unambiguous; it's not important to me whether or not it's clear to you.

By the way... my "Taking Sides" review is good - it's even got three meanings. No votes? What's up with you lot?

Make it a lower-case m and it'll get my vote. Well, you did ask.
Well yes, that's exactly why I asked for feedback. You use a capital to signify a title or rank. Without it the review would just be "a major investigation", rather than one markedly held by a Major.

No, that isn't true. Any position like this is capitalised as a title, but lower case when just a normal common noun: for example, King George VI was a king; Lord Adonis is a lord; Professor Snape is a professor; Reverend Green is a reverend; Dame Judi Dench is a dame; Major Major is a major.

It's fine to capitalise words here for emphasis whenever one likes, but as I didn't feel this one needed picking out in that way I didn't go for it.

Well in that case the change is applied and your vote welcomed.

Done.

By the way, any time you decide not to vote on one of my reviews because of a capitalisation issue feel free to let me know.

That's not practical, I'm afraid. Unfortunately, certain people around here like to wilfully misrepresent opinions (or usually facts) about general English usage as statements of F.W.F.R.-specific rules.

don't you mean thread? Or maybe, "on this post." Otherwise you're only giving instructions to yourself. [Come to think of it, that's probably a ripping good idea!] I'm only sub-editing here for clarity.

Thanks for your input,

Any time! But you have yet a few more steps to take on the road to clarity. I have no idea what the hell you're talking about, nor is this the first time.

Thanks for your input, but no, the wording is exactly as I intended, as always; it doesn't give instructions to myself at all.

Oh man I didn't read the whole post through, I just noticed words 'conductor' and 'investigation', and went loud mouth.

Thanks for the review hail.
