I think I just hit the 8 year mark and 1000 reviews around a month ago. It's been a great past time and I am proud of contributions since day one.
I started back up a few months ago and found out about the new MERPS and the strict guidelines, attempting to make the reviews better. I applaud the effort, but about 18 out of 20 reviews I felt as if I am guilty trying to prove my innocence.
Choosing not to do obvious reviews since I started, having to explain every review has choked out the fun for me. Having to explain my choice of "grammer"(sic) to a MERP on every review I do that pushes a grammatical or thematic envelope makes the passing deciding process the goal instead of pushing into new creative territories.
I'm certain there are reasons for and against, but bottom line is, I liked writing reviews that were fun, funny or clever.
I hope things change for the craftsmen that decide to remain.

As has been reflected on other threads, the fwfr door is a revolving one and keeps revolving whether you return or not.
The problem seems to be that the fwfr door has become more revolting rather than revolving.
I think it's an E-volving door. |

Posted - 10/04/2011 : 22:09:49 I left a few times myself dgb. But as you see I am still here. Not in full force as I used to be, but when I get around to reviewing it is few and far between. No one likes change, but it is inevitable. That is unless you still talk on a brick sized cell phone. I would guess that one persons rantings become another persons reality. Please don't leave us entirely. |

Posted - 09/12/2011 : 19:17:55 Just checked my unvoteds for dgbenner and corrected a number of them. This thread also had me re-examining some recent rejections and I have to agree. I don't want to get into examples here. It might be cool on the admin side if you had stats of reviews approved on appeal that went on to get votes, and giving a bit more leeway to those users who rank high on that list. |

Posted - 09/12/2011 : 16:05:42 I rarely bother reviewing anymore. And when I do and if the review is approved, I pass it along to Smithee.
I do however, enjoy the Fourum. :) |

Posted - 09/11/2011 : 22:25:13 Hey, deeg: I believe airbody would be sad to see you go, but nevertheless, none of us would want to intrude upon your life. [If anybody disputes either assumption, then fuck 'em.]
Do this for me though, OK? Just think about us the next time you're sitting through a movie and four words or fewer occur to you. Don't go away forever. There are lots of my own votes in that thousand, and they won't be going away...
