Channel4 have a film quiz. The idea is that you identify the film title from one still. You have three lives; if you keep winning the sky's the limit (currently the highest score is 3622). I am languishing far below in 700th place.

Enjoy.

PS Still in about 700th place.

I'm glad to hear you all enjoyed it.

Since starting this thread I haven't tried the STUPID quiz again, and now I'm pleased I didn't waste any more time on it.

Just let me know when you and your lawyers have battered the bastards into submission and all glitches have been removed. Then I'll know it's safe to play again.

What annoyed me about this was that it doesn't move onto the next question when you get the answer correct. My broadband isn't particularly fast, and I just got bored in then end.

Probably a six foot invisible rabbit named Jacqueline.

The response I received, to getting zeroed after more than a thousand correct answers, was that it was a glitch in their server, they were so sorry and I would have to start again. Yeah, right.

So far no answer to my "that's not good enough, you are legally responsible, you callous bastards" email.

Just thought I'd share with you the response I received from my complaint to Channel 4 and asking specifically for either a pause or save button so the quiz wouldn't lock you out if you take a pee break - fwiw!:

Dear Beth,

We're sorry to hear about the problems you encountered with our quiz. We have taken your concerns into account and will incorporate them into our plans to develop the quiz.

Thanks,
Jacqueline Harvey

Maybe I'm an especially impatient person, but I don't see how anyone even makes it to 100, let alone 1000. GodDANG, does this thing move slowly. For anyone who likes movie quiz games but DOESN'T have the patience of a saint, may I suggest:

insert really cursiest curse of your choice:
I just got up to 1289 when the cursiest curse quiz re-set my score to zero.

That's it! I give up.
Bah! Humbug!

And do NOT remind me it's April 1

I'm seeing my solicitor about it on Monday.

Actually today the questions are no longer random (or pseudo-random) but rotate in a sequence of 204. I kid you not.

I wonder if they answer the complaints in strict rotation too?

This is getting serious ... especially in light of the recent Parliamentary hoo-hah about Rich and Judy and the so-called Play channels. Hmmm ... do you think we should contact the media ... Channel 4 shouldn't be immune!!!

Ooo... I'm really furious with Channel 4!! I just wasted 1 hours zipping through question after question and racking up 510 points with 3 lives still intact ... at which point I had to go feed my mewling cat and have a pee.

When I returned, the expletive deleted quiz had locked me out due to "a technical error or you took too long with no activity" ... I've filed a complaint with them, but hah! NB: there's no way to "pause" or "save" your game. So that means the top scorers either are a group of people - which discriminates against the single player ... or they're even more obsessive than I am, and play while sitting on the loo with a fridge in easy reach, and they've killed all their pets.

I certainly never wanted their measly TMNT gear, but I'd have loved to be somewhere further up the leaderboard. Bastards!

The quiz is even more of a swizz because after a while the same films recur time after time. I know there are others in the random loop because some of the ones that came up last night weren't there at all - while some today re-appeared 5 or 6 times.

Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!

PS - if anyone STILL wants to participate in this STUPID quiz, it certainly helps if you've had a night's sleep

Are you doing the same quiz? The one we're doing - I assume it's all of doing it - is the one where they show you a still from the film and you have to id it from a choice of 3 titles.

Your question above, however, has a sweet ending - explosive though it may be

My score was horrid. Thank goodness I don't want a Wii.

(But excuse me for a moment, I need to pii!)
