Having seen him in MOULIN ROUGE I'd have expected him toulouse his temper easily.

Sorry, mixed my Ferrers. Was this the one that wrote all those Olivia Newton-John songs?

How about "Ferrar Ferrar Away"? Covers 'em all.

So which one is Miguel's dad?

From Wikipedia
quote:
Miguel Ferrer was born in Santa Monica, California, the oldest of five children of Puerto Rican Academy Award-winner Jos Ferrer and American singer Rosemary Clooney. His siblings are Maria, Gabriel, Monsita, and Rafael (also an actor) and his cousin is actor George Clooney.

quote:
Jos Ferrer had previously been married to famed actress and acting teacher Uta Hagen (19381948), by whom he had a daughter, Leticia (Lettie),

Name-drop alert! Once upon a long time ago, I got a scholarship to The Stratford Shakespeare Academy in Connecticut! Also there that summer was Lettie Ferrer. One day her dad came to visit and took a group of us out to the local diner for lunch. I had been such a great admirer of his - he really was a wonderful actor [much better than Mel], and his wife Uta Hagen, also a brilliant actress, became one of the best and best-known acting teachers ever. Then, in the middle of the lunch, Lettie, embarrassed about her acne, kept touching her face. Her dad just turned on her, really let rip that she shouldn't do that. She turned bright red and ran out of the diner. I could never really watch him again without thinking of that unnecessary display of parental tyranny. Hey ho!

I'm not sure whether Miguel wrote songs for Olivia N-J.

PS - your revised Obit for Mel seems more than appropriate!

Uhm ... that's a bit obscure
It was Jose Ferrer who was known for portraying Cyrano ... though, it's true that Mel directed Jose in a stage version at one point. They weren't related.
