On holiday recently in the north-west of England, Mrs C spotted an advert for this place, the setting for the 1945 film Brief Encounter.

If you are ever in that part of the world, and are that way inclined, pay it a visit. There is a permanent exhibition at the station based around the film, with a lot of local history linked in. It's a very pleasant way of spending a couple of hours.
