Or at least if this French film from the Bargain Bins is anything to go by. Called " The Nest " , I only picked it up as it featured Samy Naceri ,the very charismatic actor from Taxi ( and no - not the awful Queen Latifah remake! ). Theres also a little bit of freejumping involved - always interesting.
Anyway the plot revoles around the conflicting paths of a warehouse heist gang and some military types escorting a prisoner from East Europe. The denouement ( hey , it's a french film! ) involves hundreds of shadowy East Europeans laying siege to a Warehouse where our heroes are holed up unable to communicate with the outside world . Much Full Auto and Night vision mayhem ensues!
If this isnt a rip from Assault on Precinct 13 its a least a homage!
Anyone else know of any " reverse imports " where the rest of the world remakes a Hollywood film? I'm holding out for a Bollywood version of ALiens where the chase stops and Ripley does a Bhangra number with a cast of hundreds.

That would make it a ripoff of a remake of a ripoff of Fort Apache. |
