I just got back from a movie called Fido that opened last week exclusively in Los Angeles and New York. This is extremely sharp satire that pop culture fans should eat up. Here is the official site containing the trailer: http://www.fidothefilm.com/

It may look like a one-joke premise, and it is to some extent, but the characters and situations are actually quite complex on a symbolic level. This is one of those small treasure movies that you go to film festivals all your life looking for, and then once having seen it, you try as hard as you can not to keep it a secret. I think it will expand to other areas in the U.S. in July, but I'm not sure if it will have an international theatrical distribution. Keep your eye out!
