Posted - 09/30/2007 : 14:47:23 Here's a curiosity from 1980 that I had some guilty-pleasure fun with. It's the old Amicus team -- horror-anthology fans will know what I mean -- giving it one last go. It never received a theatrical release in the U.S. I saw it for the first time this past week.
Vincent Price and John Carradine bust moves on the floor of a monster disco, as Amicus-style horror tales from R. Chetwynd-Hayes [Carradine plays him!] roll in the background. Even the awful attempt at humor which is the middle story is fun to watch in a retro way, and among the musicians performing at the Monster Club are the Pretty Things. A sweet little time capsule, not-too-scary tales aimed at all but the very youngest children, charming in its naivete. |
