Posted - 08/10/2008 : 23:05:14 You know in any popular television genre series there's the continuing saga of the running characters and then the episode stories? Well,Make It Happen is like an extended episode story that plays out all the stuff that doesn't make it to the series.
Lead Mary Elizabeth Winstead is personable and certainly talented, but she really should fire her agent for sending her into the dance hell that is Make It Happen.
A cliche tale of a wannabe dancer who finds herself working in a sleazy club instead of pursuing excellence at the school of her dreams. Can you guess the ending yet?
Boring, witless, lacking in charm. A parable for our times? Or just a bad film. You decide.

There have been so many of these youth dance films now -- the better ones get up to 3/5 and until now they have all got at least 2/5. However, they normally have (i) a lot more energy, (ii) some amount of physical beauty and (iii) dancing that is actually impressive.
I was relieved that it was at least quite short. |
