I saw this immediately after Casablanca in the same screen, and was still buzzing from that, so that may have skewed my mood. Regardless of why, though, I found it an unexpected joy. The pace is nimble throughout, hippiedom wins me over pretty easily and it just feels so different to anything else that I've seen. I also didn't see the sudden ending coming, and that finishes it off much more dynamically than other musicals.

Saw this about 25-30y ago. Don't think I could put up with that god-awful music again, although I liked everything else about it...
