Posted - 09/04/2011 : 00:03:36 Terrible. The audience has finally gotten past the point where they marvel at the CGI renditions, and chldren have *always* seen animation as that realistic. Pretending to tell a fairy tale which begins with your mom being kidnapped is no good, unless you have something pretty strong to pay it off with. This one doesn't. *Don't take your kids.*
P.S. The "uncanny valley" which made POLAR EXPRESS so bothersome is still here, made even worse b/c the CG characters look *almost* like Seth Green, Joan Cusack and Dan Fogler. But not close enough. Best part is the end credits, where we can see the real actors in motion capture suits. |
