The more I think about this film, the more annoyed I get as the plot holes and loose ends pile up so quickly that they finally swamp it. It starts well and has a notable atmosphere, (although that often feels cliched and show-offy with foggy exteriors, grey and rusty interiors and frequent thunderstorms), and has a strong central performance from Belen Rueda (much better in The Orphanage) and two or three very effective set pieces, but the overall feeling is one of head scratching tedium. So many of the key moments are telegraphed incredibly badly that there's no surprise, the script is often lamentable, and several of the twists are not only silly and howlingly derivative they're downright insulting to the intelligence. If you do manage to sit through an overlong 2 hours you are punished by a saccharine final 30 seconds that might make you wish you were going blind as well. I'd recommend you save your cash.
