Good questions, lem: who IS Dakota Fanning, and who IS Jennifer Garner? I took the questions as more ontological, and I now realize that I don't really know much about either. What makes them tick? What gets a Dakota Fanning out of bed? Heady stuff, lem, heady stuff.
That's what I'm talkin' about! |

Trust me, there are hundreds of actors left.
Sure, but it is harder to come up with obits/titles with the limited body of work of newbie actors.
Then we must go backwards in time. |

Posted - 03/05/2010 : 22:29:51 Yep, plenty left, but it's harder to find actors with a bunch of movies that haven't already been subject to FWPT usage. I commonly see FWPT entries that I know have been used before, some more than once.
It's easy enough to find an actor that nobody's heard of (apart from lemmy ) from the B&W era with movies that nobody's heard of, but they aren't as much fun, as few recognise the movie reference from the FWPT. |

My point was that the pool for picking weekly candidates is getting shallow, IMHO.
I thought I saw your tongue in your cheek when you were saying 'frostline' but I wasn't sure so ignored it.
But you're right, the day will come when FWTO and FWPT will have done their dash. Not yet though. |

While Garner (no relation to James, unfortunately) is probably best known for 13 Going on 30, and I see you've also heard about her fame as Ben Affleck's wife.
Dakota Fanning is just some new kid who has had the lead roles in Charlotte's Web, I Am Sam and was the voice of Coraline and Lilo (as in Lilo & Stitch). Not very impressive for a girl turning 16, is it? Ouch!
(Let's hope she stays clean - but these Twilight movies she's in are pretty dark, and could be dangerous for sweet kids like her!)

Posted - 03/05/2010 : 07:59:27 Lemmy, if you mean you haven't heard of either, then... either I'm shocked or it just shows how detached you must be from modern generic Hollywood fare and gossip mags. I suppose that's a good thing.
But, if you've never seen or heard these two in a movie then it means you must have missed Juno, Catch Me If You Can and My Neighbour Totoro. That's not a good thing, they range from pretty good to excellent. |

Posted - 03/05/2010 : 06:22:13 Jennifer Garner is married to Ben Affleck and starred in that show - um Alias. Dakota Fanning is the little blonde haired girl that played Sean Penn's daughter in I Am Sam and Tom Cruise's daughter in War of the Worlds. Does that help? |
