Hey all--
I have built a new accolade, called (for now) "They're Coming to Get You, Barbra!" To earn it you have to review a couple dozen classic 1950s and 1960s low-budget horror movies--from the best of the best (Carnival of Souls, Night of the Living Dead, Invasion of the Body Snatchers) to the best of the worst (The Blob, Bride of the Monster, etc.)

Though I haven't seen this since it was first released - and I was just a kid - I'm pretty sure it wasn't a "coming to get you horror movie" since Klaatu, the alien who visits Earth comes with a message of peace: "Klaatu barada nikto".

Yeah, I see that it does. My Night of the Living Dead 25th Anniversary book, written by NoLD authors John Russo and George Romero, from the convention in 1993, has it as Barbara consistently through the book and the excerpts of script published in it. I submitted a correction to IMDB based on Romero's book.

Thanks for all the tips. Forbidden Planet's $1m+ budget is stretching the limits of "low budget" but since it is mentioned in the opening number of 'Rocky Horror,' I think it has to get in. And thanks for setting me straight about Barb-a-ra. |

You need to add Little Shop of Horrors. It really was supposed to be a horror movie! It ended up as a comedy purely by accident. Another must-add film would be Queen of Blood. Any time you hear the words "space vampire," that's a pretty good indication it's exactly the kind of film you want for this accolade.

Carry On Screaming! (1966)
Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1964)
Dr. Terror's Gallery of Horrors (1967)
It Came From Outer Space (1953)
Orgy of the Dead (1965)

I think you should include Zombies, a wonderfully horrendous movie from the 60s that I wish were listed under it's American reissue title: I Eat Your Skin.
