I recently added an accolade based on the theme song, Science Fiction/Double Feature from Rocky Horror Picture Show. There are eleven earlier films referenced and I had to add 3 films to the site to complete that list. Each of those film plots is simply described in the song lyrics. Now, this may be a picayune issue, but I'm having trouble deciding whether it would be appropriate to add the Rocky Horror film itself. The song lyrics at one point say "See androids fighting Brad and Janet" so the song references its own film. I've added it provisionally, but I'm really ambivalent about it. Opinions? |

Speaking of The Bride of Frankenstein, the DVD commentary makes an interesting point about the title and its possible double meaning. The name Frankenstein literally refers to the doctor, so the actual "bride of Frankenstein" is Henry's extremely unfortunate new wife, Elizabeth. Talk about a bad marriage -- this poor girl has no idea what she's gotten herself into.
Either way, Bride fits the accolade nicely, since Henry and his monster are still the main characters. Thanks for the suggestions. |

I agree that RHPS should be included in this accolade. But it's always sort of bugged me that the movie never actually shows Brad and Janet fighting androids. There aren't even any androids in the movie. While we're on the topic of accolades, I was thinking of creating one about movies which are named after supporting characters, i.e. not the main character. RHPS is a prime example. Rocky doesn't appear until well into the movie, and he doesn't really have that much screen time compared to Frank, Brad, Janet, etc. Trouble was, I couldn't think of many other other examples for this accolade, except The Wizard of Oz and maybe The Thin Man and The Big Lebowski. |

What a cool accolade, WHL! I vote Yes ... because adding the RHPS is like the wrapping paper.
