I spent a little while tonight disowning a few reviews toward my ultimate aim of having reviewed exactly the same amount of films as my review total - that is, having only one review per film, which reflects my accolade-centric approach to this site.
If you disagree with my disowning process, I have no interest in hearing your opinion of it. They're my reviews, and I can do what I like with them. What I like in this occasion is keeping them as part of the site, under Alan Smithee's name.
This brings me to the point of this post: I was able to nudge our beloved friend Alan Smithee up into the rarefied air of Movie Oracle - congratulations Alan (hence, many of us!) on achieving your second Millennium and your halo!
For the stubborn, I reiterate - if you don't like Smithee, kindly ignore this thread... |

I have to admit that I have a number of times nearly disowned all my reviews and disappeared from the site, mainly due to a few members of the site. I have not as yet done it, but I also consider disowning all my reviews that fail to get any votes.
I am not canvassing for votes here merely saying that I admire the quality of a person who is so determined to achieve a target as to get rid of a whole pile of hard work to get there!
Alan is a fact of life and there is no point at all in getting upset about it, just get over it!
