someone, please enlighten me. i have no idea what i was supposed to get from this film. it starts like "The Blair Witch Project," then goes kinda David Lynch. after a while, i just thought, "OK, i don't know what's going on, and i'm done trying." it damn sure wasn't forgettable, though.

I rented and watched this movie solely based on your post. I have to say I agree with you!

The collective icon advertised by the title is casually thrown away [there's a "meet the scarecrow" sequence, and the "ultimate trail" adds more chroma than the rest of the dreary trek, but zat's it!].

There are a couple of good ideas festering here, but dammy, you hit it spot-on when you said the flick changes colors about twice, and both times just when we were getting nice and comfy. Did you notice booms and dollies in "the woods"? [IOW, third-person shooting.]

The ending will seem profound only to the filmmakers. The rest of us are saying, HUH? Still, I recommend this flick for the middle :50. The unnamed "tormentor" uses a very clever "weapon."
