TA:MOU = Themed Anniversary: Moving On Up
DA EVEN NEWER ROOLZ
Each Tuesday a theme will be decided based on the Anniversary of some significant event. All you have to do is trawl your reviews for any that relate to that event and post them here with a link.
You can post as many as you wish, so long as either the film or your review clearly relates to the theme. You can only post during the week of the current TA:MOU.
You don't have to say you voted unless you really want to - but you are expected to visit all the links posted. As a courtesy to the majority of fwfrs, you may only post a link that uses the http://www.fwfr.com domain name.
Each week's TA:MOU will be removed when a new one takes its place. This is to deter re-visiting of expired threads. Yours truly Da Management
ON THIS DAY in 1925 Cond Nast published the first issue of iconic magazine The New Yorker. From the off it was hailed as the home of top-class journalism, literature, and an ongoing parade of brilliant cartoons. If you've never had a flip through its pages I urge you to seek it out - from the most recent issue to the archives. You won't regret it!
So to this week's TA:MOU challenge. Let's see your fwfrs for films wholly or mostly set in New York. You can include any of the five boroughs - but NOT fictional replicas like Gotham City. The boroughs are: Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island.
New York, New York - it's a helluva town, so good they named it twice, city of my birth, and now home to our own dear randall!!
Hey - I'm walkin' here!!!!

The perks of being the TA:MOU tyrant - include bumping the deadline. Mostly because my fever has climbed up to nearly 40 degrees
Boo-hoo, cough-cough, shiver-shiver and all the rest.
I am going back to bed ... I may be some time ...

Yikes! Hope you feel better soon. Sounds like you have a good plan--plenty of rest! |

Glad BB is on the mend. Looks like we have another week on this one.
I voted on your NYC reviews, demo, but many had already been the beneficiaries of my largesse. |

Haven't done my voting yet Lemmy, but I'm happy to move on and select a new topic for us on Tuesday if you are. I could keep writing NY reviews but two weeks feels like enough time in the city... :) |

I am content to hang fire for another week and get BB back here to make it a three (or even better 4+)way.
By the way, when we get back to it, it looks like we are stuck isolating films only in fwxr format since I have been unable to find how to do that in the upgraded site. |

Okay - I'll add a few more New Yorkers before next week. Benj has pointed out in the site features section the way to isolate on the new site... and it's funky... hold the mouse button down over a selected review for a few seconds and the code link for that review pops down. He's flippin' clever. |

The Return of the TA:MOU Tyrant!
Well, just about ... this morning I felt strong enough to start the NYC voting, but can't quite yet concentrate on compiling my own list. Especially since there still seems some linkage probs -- read on, lemmy!
Also some voting probs. OK on old site, but sometimes new site doesn't display the faded-out voting star. 'sOK - I'm a patient woman. Well, I'm a patient.
So, the nubbins is - I've voted for all those of dem that I hadn't b4. But lem - I just can't get your links to isolate your own fwfrs. I keep getting taken to a generic page for each film, and can't seem to vote on any of 'em.
I'm using latest version of Google Chrome, Windows 7.
Anyway - I aim to come up with something shiny and new on Tuesday, but I'll save you guys from having to trawl through my NY stuff ... for now!
PS - Thanks mucho for all your good wishes
