Here, "Keeping cup with Jones's" should be "Keeping cup with Joneses", unless I am missing something, which the identity of the reviewer makes me think is possible.
"Bearded Jones' Diary" and "Henry Jones' Diary" would be better as "Bearded Jones's Diary" and "Henry Jones's Diary", since it is Bridget Jones's Diary and thankfully not Bridget Jones' Diary.
Fixed one and all. Sorry to say the change was made by me- no idea why, but when you're wading through a stack of reviews almost anything can make sense

Submitted "Keeping cup with Joneses" originally but it was edited to "Keeping cup with Jones's" when it was approved. I assumed the change was to suit a site style. Either way, I was too happy about an approval, and one that did fairly well, to care. Cheers for bringing attention to it.
NO! NO! NO! NO!
That's a bad edit! Where is the possesive? The "Jones's" what? There is no possessive. "Joneses" is correct! An apostrophe signals either a contraction or a possesive. "Joneses" is plural, "Jones's" is possesive. CP, you were RIGHT to begin with, which is why I'm effing sick and tired of these so-calld MERPS, or Deputies spending all of their GD time poreing over a back log that had benj virtually frozen -- I mean imagine, a group of people who, for no money, and no public recognition, spend their time "approving" reviews for us so that we can get them posted sooner than would be the case if there were still only one person (good as he is) looking them over!
Why it just makes me wanna get a rope or something and have a necktie party!. Yeah: a necktie party!
[What my friend is trying to express probably was expresssed fairly early on: Joneses is plural and was correct to begin with. Before editing a review, the editor should at least make sure that the edit is not only correct but also appropriate. Changing the substance of a review is a very real possibility. With great power ...]
Who's idea was that MERP/Deputy thing anyway? [/quote
Probably some visionary who would come up with some weird concept like a four word film review site (and then attract a bunch of whackos who deluge him with reviews).
P.S. Like the way you snuck that "who's" in there mguyx!

That's different! When you're sort of full tilt into a mini rant about punctuation, you can't be concerned with punctuation and stuff. Makes you look pedantic, and we all knows that I don't put up with that child-dancing crap.

Keerect. Never let the facts get in the way of a good rant.

A review of mine has been approved with a re-spelling, the English (London, not America) way! :) It's neat, I won't change it.

My Dad is a physicist. He told me that tori means "donuts" . . . (or at least donut shapes) . . . plural of torus. . . I thought that was pretty funny . . .

I was looking through Braveheart reviews before submitting when I discovered Franklin James. His review Innacurate: yes. Revisionist: no. was inaccurate in its spelling and a few of the other reviews might now be dismissed as overly generic.
