Two words. Scorsese Lite. It promises that it's from "The Writer of the Sopranos" so it was rescued from the DVD racks for the night.
Bada Bing, we've been here before with better acting and a better Director of Photography. Youse gets the story of tree Italian guys from Brooklyn who grow up on the fringes of the Mob. Seem familiar? The only time it evers comes alive is when the neighbourhood Capo is onscreen - a marvellously callous performance by Alec Baldwin. Otherwise it might as well be Brooklyn 90210 with Teak-like acting from Freddy Prinze Junior ( like thats a surprise! ), Scott Caan and ( ha ha ) Mena Suvari.
Like watching a film by some guy who vaguely remembers a Scorcese film on cable. |
