Please don't believe the hype.
If I say the most successful element of this pretentious Norwegian rancid meatball is a distracting, annoying and inappropriate score you'll get the idea I hated Headhunters.
Honestly, I'm struggling to find anything good to say. OK the camera-work isn't underlit or fuzzy. Sometimes the design gets points for style.
But I'm swimming against the flow here, since - cashing in I guess on the current crop of excellent Scandi-thrillers - there's lotsa movie gossip about a remake, possibly starring Mark Wahlberg.
I admit to being a big fan of recent Danish and Swedish genre films that successfully mix-up crime solving and political ambition. What Headhunters does is ditch any such interesting juxtaposition and pretend to wrap up what is essentially a horror treatment in a cellophane-thin relationship betrayal tale.
The script would qualify as swiss cheese it's got so many holes. And what passes for characterisation means the people fall straight through them.
It's a video game pretending to be a movie.
