Lemmy in for #1005.

This version of Eisenstein’s aborted Que Viva Mexico is purportedly more of what Eisenstein was working towards than the Upton Sinclair footage which was the only version available prior to this.

Remakes etc.

Putting it kindly, The Purge seems to have been influenced by Straw Dogs.

I had previously misplaced the attached Hobbit review in the Desolation film. After finally seeing it (I know, for shame!) I relocated the fwfr to the finale.

Flight – A pilot with an alcohol and cocaine addiction makes an insane emergency landing.

A woman, called Joe inexplicably, explores masochism. (Other characters are known by initials.)

This is a famous book.

Late, but here.

NB:
Vittorio De Sica plays the titular General (or at least pretends to be him) in "Il Generale Della Rovere".
In "Alexandra" a grandmother visits her Russian soldier grandson at war in Chechnya.
Prostitute Filumina pretends to be dying to get the man she loves to marry her in "Marriage Italian Style".
In "Alps" a group hire themselves out to grieving people by impersonating the recently deceased.
Married Aurora has a passionate affair with Ventura in "Tabu".
