Something new, something old ...

There are several films called Blackbird. This one's by David Mamet - part thriller, part social commentary, set in LaLa Land, and features the granddaughter of an sfx supremo with a secret past.

The Keeping Room's directed by Daniel Barber and follows some US Civil War troops caught on their own.
