Four newbies and a oldie.
Some explanations:
Poseidon, directed by Wolfgang Peterson, is about a cruise ship knocked upside down by a tidal wave.
Drugstore Cowboy is from Gus Van Sant, the man who directed Good Will Hunting.
Red Dawn is about the Soviet Union invading America. (And to dumb down this explanation further, the U.S. national anthem is called the Star Spangled Banner.)

Mampers thinking that Sharon Stone is getting on a bit for doing all that nudity in Basic Instinct 2.
I beg to differ. Mampers, you're getting too Hollywood on that one. Let's have more real women like Shazza on screen (and getting her kit off ); there are enough pneumatic young bimbos around already. |

Some new, some old.
As a tribute to our latest FWPO star, I include a review of 'The Statue', in which David Niven's wife creates a very accurate statue of him except for one small...er...large point. |

In the spirit of last week's American Idol, the theme for this FYC is
Films of the 21st century
Completely redundant explanations:
The Irish Vampire Goes West Yes, I know only people pretending to be Irish use this expression. Hey, I'm full-blooded Irish me self, but it's too easy a pun to miss.
Constantine Reminded me of certain thematic elements of The Devil's Advocate, which also featured Keanu Reeves.
The Shipping News Set in Newfoundland and directed by Lasse Hallstrom.
LOTR: ROTK Yes, this was clearly inspired by a similiar review for Harry Potter, but I can never resist a triple-basketball pun. |

Trying to keep ahead of the voting curve this time to avoid having to do a marathon sesh at the end.
So voted to here with one clean sweep so far going to Salopian. Often go back for a second bite though.
Picked up the stragglers. And sbudgie was also elevated to a 5-for. |
