The almost all hip-hop edition
The Simpsons "Do The Bartman" was a kinda hip-hop UK #1, so I decided to expand the parameters of Bart's catchphrase for the full-length movie.
Phat Girlz Directed by the improbably named Nnegest Likk. Honest. No, honest.
Winnie the Pooh and A Day for Eeyore Probably the only Pooh review to allude to "In Da Club" by 50 Cent.
Running Out of Time In Hollywood An aging actress is anxious to get a movie deal. Character actor John Diehl co-stars. I'm sorry. I had to do it. Hip-hop free, to my knowledge.
Soul Plane Rapper Snoop Dogg as a pilot who really gets high. Yeah, it's another one of those SoaP title parodies. |

In honour of Shakespeare's 442nd birthday (and 390th deathday) yesterday, here's Five from the Bard.
Oh, I guess I should explain a couple: She's the Man is based on Twelfth Night, whose subtitle is 'What you will'. There are many cheap willy (penis) jokes in this film. Othello is set in a police milieu, and the play obviously contains 'beware the green ey'd monster...' Richard III's standard is a wild boar... 'A Pound of Flesh' is a totemic image from the Merchant of Venice. However, this is set in New Zealand, and with their silly accents, 'flesh' sounds like 'flish'. Much Ado is on the BBC, or the Beeb. Not good. |

Hello folks -
For my first ever FYC, five reviews I'm quite proud of that didn't get much attention when I first got hit with the collected voting stick.
Probably not much explanation required, but just in case...
Dreamcatcher- the creature is called a shit weasel Glengarry Glen Ross- Jack Lemmon's nickname is The Machine Holy Grail- Uther Pendragon was King Arthur's father

I appologize to Lemmy in advance for my 400 Blows review. As I've said before, the French New Wave is not among my favorite film movements. |
