3 of my reviews that were denied for a new movie have a reason that I never saw before. Maybe it was made because of me that it was made. Whats the reason?

"The Film is unconfirmed"

Anyone else seen this? See somethin new everyday.

Out of curiosity, what were the new movies? Do they have an IMDb link? I'd guess that perhaps the movies don't exist yet or haven't been confirmed by IMDb as definitely going to exist one day.

Take for example the Untitled Star Trek prequel which used to exist at fwfr. This movie has presumably been removed as it doesn't exist, is never going to exist and was only ever a rumour. (Didn't stop people reviewing it though. )

So I'd guess "unconfirmed" means just that, that those movies aren't confirmed yet.

Have added this reason so that films are not added and reviewed only to find that the film didn't go ahead and then have to remove it and everyone's hard work. I've now taken to only adding films that are (at least) 'Filming' according to imdb. Until then, I'm declining the addition of the film.

Far too logical for my liking.

It was for the A-Team and Wonder Woman.

I thought the A-Team was in proces of being filmed.

Generally when I add a new movie, I'll put the imdb.com link to that flick in the "further details" section to make Benj's life a little easier

anyway A Team link http://imdb.com/title/tt0429493/

Wonder Woman link http://imdb.com/title/tt0451279/

Yep I always do that too. But, sometimes movies get an IMDb link based on a 'real'-sounding rumour, then are subsequently removed when the rumour proves false. I'd guess benj wants a little more than initial IMDb entry to justify adding it to fwfr. E.g., the Star Trek prequel was on IMDb (and fwfr) for quite some time before being removed. I'm guessing the rumour mill went into action as a Star Trek computer game was in development.

Another example I read about a few days ago:- Peter Jackson was reported in a number of news outlets as working on a remake of The Dambusters. This was reported as a fact, i.e., locations were mentioned, as was the source of the Lancaster bombers etc. Fortunately Jackson poured water on this 24 hours later, it was total fiction. If he'd kept quiet about it for a while perhaps this would have got an IMDb entry? And then a fwfr entry, only for everyone's work to be wasted when it was all subsequently removed.

Wait - if we wanted to write a review of the 2007 version of Fahrenheit 451, because its got an IMDb link (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360556/) that would not be okay? What about those that are at least, "in production"?

I see the next Casion Royal is in "Filming" status.

At present, I'm going with nothing less than an entry on imdb of "filming". I have no problem adding as many films as you guys want, but I'm getting a bit concerned about the number of films (and therefore reviews) I've had to remove due to adding them too soon.

This all makes perfect sense to me, as long as the reviews which have been sitting in my "declined" pile waiting for the movies to start filming are still considered "first," and don't get re-declined because someone else checked IMDB for an update before I did and submitted a similar review before I had a chance to re-submit mine.

If this happens, as long as I'm made aware of the problem, I can check the submission dates of both reviews and approve the earlier one.

Die Hard 4 and Old School 2 are two others that jumped the gun.
I read stories with Vince Vaughn and Bruce Willis who both said those sequels aren't happening, even though fans want them.
