Dear Benj
My review for 'Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest' has jumped from my reviewed films list to my declined folder.
The review is "Arr'll be Jack" (a play on Arnie's classic 'I'll be back' line).
I had that review accepted more than a month ago, and I'm pretty sure it had 5 or 6 votes.
Can you tell me - was it deliberately moved? Or is it a bug? If it's a bug, could you possibly move it back into my accepted reviews list? (if it was moved because the MERPS had second thoughts about it, then fair enough - although it seems strange that it would suddenly get declined after collecting votes for 4 or 5 weeks .... I'm now wondering if this will start happening to some of my other reviews)

No doubt Benj will answer, but meantime...
MERPS don't have second thoughts. If they pass it then thats their job done.
Benj occasionally overrules MERPS decisions when he thinks they got it wrong. Possibly that's what has happened here?!

I think MERPS do have second thoughts. It takes so long for the first thought. that when the second thought comes around...they cant remember what the first thought was about  |

Yes - I'm aware that reviews can get over-ruled. It happened to me once before with my review for Die Hard ... it got accepted, then it was in the decline list only a few hours later.
But this one bewilders me, because it was accepted quite a while back.
Well - I guess I'll wait and see if Benj responds. If indeed he did over-rule it, well - fair enough. I'm just wondering if it's a bug or cock-up. I'm quite fond of that review and was pleased it got accepted.

How dare you attack our MERPs? They are all absolutely wonderful people who do a terrific job and I love them all very dearly!

Well you wouldn't want the MERPS to just click decline every time it popped into their heads. Sometimes it does take thought and time because there is a hidden meaning or something. My reviews aren't something I want someone quickly declining and since there is a 50/50 chance, I don't mind the wait.

| I'd say that Benj declined it or that it's a bug. MERPS can't decline or delete existing reviews. I think it's a great review though. |

Sorry about that- I overruled the MERPs and declined it as a generic (if you didn't get the reason, then that's a bug  ). Since there's three (and potentially more after that) POTC films, this could be any of them. |

Yup, although even then I'm not totally sure about it.
On closer examination, the review doesn't really make much sense to me. Yes, I appreciate it sounds like a line Arnie once said, but that was in a sci-fi film that didn't involve pirates or Johnny Depp- there's absolutely no connection, hence no clever or amusing parallels can be drawn. Once you remove that, it's almost nonsensical (IMO)  |
