Hi FWFR

Just a quick note to announce my FWFR retirement.

When I discovered FWFR earlier this year, I quickly realized it was very addicitive with no natural stopping point. So I decided to make my own stopping point by setting myself 3 goals.

1. Get in the top 100 reviewers
2. Get more than 500 reviews accepted
3. Collect 100 accolades

...and I achieved the last of those 3 goals today, so it's time for me to quit FWFR and get on with other things.

Cheers Benj, the MERPS, the FWFR forum regulars. I've really enjoyed chasing my 3 goals. Maybe six months down the line I'll set myself 3 new goals and start FWFRing again, but for the time being this is...

bye bye!

Boydegg

Ps - there are 12 or so films still in my 'pending', but I won't add any more

Pps -please check in on www.grammarmancomic.com once in a while!

Bye bye for now, boydegg. But, when you signed up to fwfr you must have missed some of the fine print. Clause 27/B(d) reads:-

"Nobody retires permanently from fwfr. Ever."

You're like the guy 'speaking on the great white telephone' who says "I'm never gonna drink again, ever!" and then next weekend when his mates say "Coming down for a pint mate?" says "Errmmm... ahhh.... ummmmm... Oh all right then!"

You'll be back....

Dear Grammarman,

I think you'll find that after "point" it would be correct to use a comma rather than a full stop.

Enjoy the rest of your life.

Quitting FWFR is like Michael Carleone quitting the mob.

You'll try to get out but we'll pull you back in. When you find the horse's head in your bead, that's a gift from me telling you it's time to vote for the FYC.

Come back soon, Grammarman. Your services are required as urgently here in Blighty as they are in Bangkok.

Congratulations on reaching your goals. But have you considered the possibility that you set your sights too low? If you achieved all three as quickly as you did, perhaps you need 'more stretching, though attainable, goals' (as my boss keeps saying to me ).

You may retire from the FWFR, but you wont stop thinking in 4 word reviews. Each time you see a movie you will think how you can make it into a FWFR. You can't escape us. You can hidem but you know you want to come back. Down the road there will be that one movie that will give you a kick in the ass and you may think you have the greatest review in the world. You will be back. I am sure of it.

You're a fine reviewer and a good egg. Come back whenever you feel like it, and remember this:

You'll never be able to say you WERE a fwiffer.

You ARE a fwiffer.

boydegg is a worthless waste of bandwidth...his reviews aren't worth the paper they aren't printed on and this site is better off without him.

Just making sure whether or not you've actually left...
Don't leave...give yourself another goal!
