Yeah I was watching the first one and all I could think was "Hugo Weaving must be making a lot of money with both Matrix and LOTR, but also destined to a life in Comic-Cons"

Finally, a guy who agrees with me. I never could get into the books when I was a kid - I blame my dyslexia and all those weird names I couldn't keep straight. But the movies... well, while the books were ground-breaking for the fantasy genre of their time, the genre has moved on since. It just seems to me that a good fantasy battle today is more than just guys with swords and arrows. The movies had so little besides these that I too got bored. If I want good swords and arrows battles, I'll watch something like King Arthur (and if I want bad sword battles, I'll watch Gladiator).

Just make sure you watch "Excalibur," and not the recent "King Arthur"! Ugh-a-lot!
(say, haven't we gotten a tad off-topic? My fault I suppose. Apologies.) |

I own a copy of Excalibur, King Arthur I watched on TV.
(Off topic - in the games forum? Who cares! Ooops, sorry. Here's on topic: I'm not joining in this game again until I don't have to think up any LOTR references.)

The LOTR films may not have excited you, but I think you should read/reread the books. I read the books the first time in my early 30's. The best characterization is Gollum. I also think the films did a very good job portraying Gollum and his motivations better than the other characters.
It doesn't matter to me what the genre is as long as the characterizations have depth. Besides, some other categories may be too hard to find all the letters of the alphabet! I checked to make sure before I made my selections. Anyway, I've already chosen two of the new rounds, so I think after two you should give someone else a chance (who hasn't done a round before or only one). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Letter: W

Letter: Y
LOTR: Brigette Yorke, art department co-ordinator Yo-yo tricks: For a toy that starts with the letter Y you'd think there'd be a Y-trick, but I can't find one. However, there's a company called Yomega which makes hi-tech advanced yo-yos, so I hope that will count. Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Cocktails: There doesn't seem to be one that I can find, but there's a beer called Yukon Gold. I could invent a drink that might perhaps appeal to Chocolate Lady. I'd call it a YahooKa and it would be made with 2 parts Yahoo [a chocolate beverage for kids] and 3 parts vodka.

Maybe I should make it 'anything' yo-yo. I thought that all the letters of the alphabet were covered for tricks category, but another look indicates that there are a few missing. Anyone who couldn't find their letter (and didn't post anything) should go ahead and use anything yo-yo.
For instance:
Yo-yo World: Jennifer Baybrook, a player from the USA based out of Hawaii, is a member of Team YoYoJam and a former member of Team High Performance. Jennifer is a National Yo-Yo Master and the first female to win both the US National Yo-Yo Contest (1997) and World Yo-Yo Contest (1998), both in the 2A division. With these wins she also became the first person to hold both titles simultaneously. |

Change that vodka to that Yukon Gold beer and it will be a "YahooYuk"!
(Which is, I'm sure, what it will taste like as well.)
