stick with the quality rather than quantity reviewing. Like you, I read many reviews and wonder why people bothered to submit them. I cannot see much merit in the banal or merely descriptive. But, each to their own. Consequently, I only have a pitiful number of reviews for the three years (on and off) since I discovered this gem of a site.
As I've said before somewhere or other, 'Zulu' has good reviews. |

Hi Zulu, Thanks for the kind words. You're quite right, the goal is not to simply generate a high number of reviews, but to have each review be a creative take on a film. I checked your listings, and your entries certainly support what you espouse. "Numb And Number" is priceless.

Glad to make you smile Catuli! My goal is quality, but the great thing about the site is the vatiety; I would not knock people who were driven by quantity or completing accolades etc...I can understand the competitive buzz of going up the rankings. I remember the Chocolate gal going past me so fast I nearly capsized in her backwash. I have been bobbing around #150 for ages. I just need to translate some of the post-it ideas into actual submissions... |
