I've always wanted to get something into the all-time top 100 reviews, but I just don't think it's possible any more: whenever a newbie wanders in and checks that list, it self-perpetuates further. If you're already on it, it's a reliable vote collector; if you're not, there's no way now. |

To at least stay in the top 30...5 more to go To have at least one of my reviews in the top 100 To have my pending list disappear before I add more reviews To have the Guts to erase my decline list To reach the next level of Reviewers before we celebrate year 8 |

Well my first goal is to reach new status with 500 reviews approved; that's certainly the closest one. That would immediately be followed by entry into the hallowed 100 reviewers. Then from there it's probably a mad scramble to stay in it....
I'm definitely looking for consistent quality and to date I'm pleased to say have no reviews with no votes, apart from the one that got approved this morning. Obviously there's a batch of thirty or so waiting for approval, but I'm pretty positive about them too.
I'm very proud of my reviews which are the highest rated review for a film, so a high proportion of those is good. I have no particular aim, but at time of writing nearly 23% of all my reviews are the top rated review for that particular film. If I can keep that up and improve on it i'll be very pleased indeed.
Since the last FYC my highest voted review picked up a few more votes pushing it from the bottom of the top 500 to the bottom of the top 300 which was very exciting. As for the top 100 - surely that isn't actually possible any more... |

a) Top 100 by rank - Done. b) A Top 100 review - Done. c) Oracle - Done. d) FYCTH all reviews I consider voteworthy - Done. e) Keep my voting average for all post-2003 reviews above 10 - Done. f) Strip most of my 2003 reviews back to 0 votes - Not possible.
Yikes, that was it!

All I want is a higher vote average than Slippy Tin. When I first joined everyone was talking about him and I made it my goal to catch him. Which I did at one point but have fallen 0.49 behind again now - although I do have twice the number of reviews. I even mentioned it in my Dr Seuss-stylee rhyme when I became a Guru, repeated here for those of you who didn't catch it first time around:
"Do you know a Guru?" Asked the slippetty-sloo Of the man on the dog-shaped tin.
"I certainly do, A most fabulous guru." Said the man, falling, hurting his shin.
"Well yipppedee-doo" Yelled the slippetty-sloo, "Do you think you could take me to him?"
"Only if you can prove to me through answering questions on him and his kin."
"Very well, I want to meet this fabulous guru, so ask, go ahead, let's begin."
"What would you do to become a guru?" Asked the man, still rubbing his shin.
To give him his due The slippetty-sloo Thought hard before giving a grin.
"He must write a review for one hundred films to have the honour awarded to him!"
"I knew that you knew, Well done slippetty-sloo!" Yelled the man, making quite a din.
"Come slippetty-sloo Let's go meet the guru." Said the man, grabbing slippetty's fin.
So they jumped and they flew To the land of Zulu Where BB was drinking some gin.
"I've come to see you" Said the slippetty-sloo, "To play you some bad violin."
So the slippetty-sloo Hurt the ears of the two And they both took it square on the chin.
"Oh slippetty-sloo, That's grand, it is true But I don't want just bad vioiln"
"I want to accrue More votes to pursue The king of reviews, Slippy Tin"
So I implore you Vist this fine guru And do all that you can to help him.

So if I put in a link to Slippy Tin's reviews, it won't help you at all then?

I try to keep my zeroes to a minimum (currently just 11 or 99.21% with 1 or more)- I have some stinkers from early on that I could smithee - but I'm just not strong enough.
I am working towards 2000 reviews though have had a few big lapses so won't happen in 2006. Another longer term goal is to raise my average vote total to 6 or higher - currently at 5.27 |

Not quite sure how it happened, but you should check your stats - I had voted for a lot already, but still found enough more gems to put you over the top. |

You don't even have to include his link - having a couple of reviews in the top 100 does for you in votes what being a Senator in the Republican party does for your bank balance. |

Well, you are now over 20 votes per review. |
