Thanks for all those suggestions. It abandoned the accolade again while I was trying to add them, but I'll try again later.

I think Chaplin just has archive footage, so I'll leave that one out -- I'm after fictionalised version of people's personalities rather than just fictional situations. (Having said that, I may also include those biopics where people play themselves -- or I might make a separate accolade for those.)

These accolades don't need to be comprehensive, as certain people will only whine if they are larger than they happen to like, as if they were created solely for them or something. Just the best examples of each category will do.

As far as i can remember geraldine chaplin not only played Her grandmother but she played herself in a much later scene in the movie.

I've checked the cast list and she's only credited with playing her grandmother.

I'll get back to you when i've watched it again!

O.K., please let me know if you find out. Thanks.

Suggestions please for this one. I'd like the best (quality? most representative?) film for each country. For simplicity, it would be best if most of the locations and characters were each from the country concerned. Thanks.

Thanks. Good one.

Maybe I'll go for The Dam Busters for Britain, since there aren't really many scenes in Germany.

Not sure what to use for Germany, though. Are there any good ones about civilians?

Actually, where's the camp in Life is Beautiful? Is it outside Italy? If so, I'll have to change the parameters rather than the film!

I've created the following accolades as 'vertical' strands to complement the 'horizontal' ones of my yearly Cine File accolades. I want to add to the site all films that I see, but I feel bad about having added ones that remain empty (I've tried reviews for most of them), so hopefully this might encourage people to write some reviews.

Salopian's Cine File Africa

Salopian's Cine File Asia

Salopian's Cine File Australasia

Salopian's Cine File Europe

Salopian's Cine File North America

Salopian's Cine File South America

Salopian's Jolly Good Bollywood File

Despite the descriptions, I've initially been pretty liberal about including films with only small sections in the respective continents and/or not in English, but I'll probably cut those back. Please let me know of any errors.

I'm not quite sure whether to include the Bollywood ones in the continents, and thus haven't yet added them to Asia.

I'd rather have one about civilians but I've included this for now as it's considered very good (I haven't seen it) and I guess in a strange way it's about Hitler et al as civilians.

Hopefully I've now added/responded to everyone's suggestions for all my accolades posted here. Please let me know if I have overlooked any.

Now I'd like suggestions for two accolades about related structures that I really like.

For this one I mean either threads which ultimately come together or potentially ones which don't.

For this one I mean timelines more complicated than just occasional flashbacks, though I'll include ones where two time periods are extensively interspliced. I don't mean stories about time travel.

I feel as though Synecdoche, NY should fit into one or both but it's a bit hard to pin down conceptually. Can anyone remember much about Youth Without Youth? Which of the Saws have a lot of time-chopping?

BaftaBabe, I have just come across this one. Two of the films are set in Asia and two in North America. Don't you want to feature South America and Australasia/Oceania instead?
