Come on.  You know full well that I have not suggested your original post was "out of line". It's entirely reasonable. I only wish I could say the same about your subsequent posts 
And I'm not "pretending" anything, dude. Your suggestion that my post was supposed to send you a hidden message was a genuine surprise to me. All it is a link to the page you were referring to. That you see some hidden message in it is, well, let's say imaginative.
As for putting smileys in the post, the point is on one level to try to defuse the situation, and on another to make it absolutely clear than nothing you are capable of posting will in any way upset me, whether that is your intention or not.

which, by stating that 'decent people' appreciated your original post, implies that those who read it and didn't appreciate it are 'not decent people'. As DT read your original post and didn't understand the point in it, he correctly assumed that he may be in the group of people you consider to be 'not decent people'. Perhaps this was your intent, or perhaps you were only referring to your best friend Salopian.
Oh, and my post here shouldn't actually be taken literally, what I really am implying is that everyone can ram it up their arse.
