I'm not cool at all, but I certainly recognize that line - probably the most famous one from that film. Thing is, I haven't seen the whole film - just snippits. I actually recognize that line from the movie Fame, from the scene when Doris gets high when she goes to see a screening of that movie, and starts singing that song on stage!

(PS: page 1 V&Vd by me)

Highly recommended, Choc! But if you can at all, GO SEE IT AT THE THEATRE! If you rent it and watch it at home, you're missing the entire "experience" which makes it unique and a classic!

The Party at Kitty and Stud's is shot as poorly as one would expect. Stallone is not very well-endowed and dances with some other naked people around in a circle.

Show me the way to the next whisky bar...

spoilers for none of them and no hints either my genius just shines like the star that I am.

I'm letting my ego loose these days, it's a little arrogant though, how and ever...

Play Ball!

Well, the 2007 basebal season is now underway, so here are five reviews for films which prominently feature baseball.

While I do not generally give explanations, I will do so this time in recognition of the fact that many of you are more interested in cricket (especially right now) than in baseball.

Angels in the Outfield (1951)the team is the Pittsburgh Pirates. Im playing with Pirates of the Caribbean.

Bull Durhamsweet spot: the spot on a bat, etc., where a ball is most effectively hit.

League of Their OwnGeena Davis is the teams catcher and like her male counterparts of that era she chews tobacco.

The Sluggers WifeRBIs (runs batted in and pronounced are bee eyes): one of the most important stats for a hitter. This hitter has eyes for Rebecca.

The Stratton StoryJames Stewart plays Monty Stratton, a promising pitcher who makes a comeback after losing a leg.

HINT:
Shrek the Third: Shrek argues with young Arthur (voiced by *Nsynch singer Justin Timberlake), trying to convince him to become the king.

If the hypnotist doesn't get you, watch out for She Who Must Be Obeyed

I don't normally give hints, but I'll make an exception in one case. I'm interested in the way local papers report stories (hence 'Giancaldo boy makes good' for Cinema Paradiso), and I wondered how a local paper might have reported Wilberforce's success on the slave trade. Any connection with any other person (such as John Prescott: British deputy PM, Hull MP and a man famous for his cars) is purely coincidental.

PS For the Borat review, note that 'tears' can be read in two ways (in the film the story is that gypsy tears - rhyming with fears - provide immunity from AIDS).

Oldies but ....absolute zeroes

Explanations
Mouse On The Moon; Its basic wine or 'vin-ordinaire' is explosive, ie military ordnance.
Scum; Ray Winstone fights back in youth-prison, & in a key scene puts a couple of billiard balls in a sock...
Rocky III; The review's in the form of a Guardian Crossword clue. So in a literal reading, at first he is defeated. But as a crossword clue initially means look at the initial letters of the other words - MR T.
Babette's feast; The staunchly puritan locals are utterly seduced by the wonderful meal Babette provides.
Ring; Geven the number of health videos etc that infest us, then the 'being' who appears at the playing of the video from ....

V&V'd to Tori

Five new ones.

The two reviews for Thelma & Louise should be considered together in order to be funny (I hope). For the Poseidon review, think of an animated allegorical movie featuring bunnies...
